How to email on behalf of a group

If you have a group of people, for instance, sales department, and you need them to have one common Inbox for emails and possibility to reply to those emails from the individual email addresses, you need to create a shared group folder. See the example to learn how to do it.

There are multiple users with the following accounts:

  • User A - a@training.com

  • User B - b@training.com

The users A and B want to sent messages from sales@training.com but with their own signatures.

  1. Click Plus menu to create New Domain Training.com.

  2. Click Training.com and create New User: A,B.

  3. Click Plus menuNew Group to create a group Sales with alias sales@training.com. To see the list of groups, change the account type for Group and select Sales.

  4. Click Sales to open the group settings. In the Info tab, navigate to the Group Sharing section and enable Create a public folder Enter the name of the shared folder, for instance, Marketing. In the Group Email Delivery section expand the drop-down menu and select Deliver mail to shared folder . The members of the group will see a mailbox Marketing in the WebClient Mail folder tree (Navigation panel with Folder Tree).

  5. Click Save .

  6. Go to Members tab and click Add Members to add user accounts (A,B).

  7. Go back to the Info tab and click Permissions .

  8. In the Permissions dialog, select Share next to Inbox to open the Inbox dialog.

  9. In the Inbox dialog, click Add New User or Domain .

  10. Select the A and B users, then click Add User .

  11. Set permissions and click Save and then Done.

  13. In the WebClient, the user A clicks the avatar in the top left and navigates to the Options menu (see Quick Options).

  14. In the Options menu, the user A clicks the Mail tab and goes to Aliases, selects Add delegated Alias .

  15. In the list of accounts, the user A selects sales@training.com and clicks OK.

  16. The user B does steps 12-14.

  17. Once the users A and B add a delegated alias, you can also modify default Sent folder of a group email address in order to let the members to see what every individual member is sending out of this email.
