How to troubleshoot synchronization delays
If the folder synchronization lasts longer than predefined periods (see Items synchronization), or some folders and items are missing, it may be caused by antivirus check or error in WebDav settings.
Long antivirus checks
Antivirus check of the incoming messages can cause synchronization delay because Outlook Sync waits for an IMAP server response.
To resolve this problem, disable the check of incoming emails from your desktop antivirus. IceWarp provides its own reliable antivirus protection and you can fully trust it.
Change the following antivirus settings on your computer:
-
Turn off SMTP, IMAP and POP3 protocols check.
-
Set an exception for the entire folder where .pst file for Outlook is located.
-
Turn off Antivirus plugin for Outlook integration.
Note: As for outgoing emails, we recommend leaving your desktop antivirus check enabled. The antivirus attaches a short message to the email and the recipient's mail client does not need to check it again. The check of outgoing messages does not cause synchronization delays. It is enough to disable only the check of incoming messages.
WebDAV link settings
If you have problems with synchronization of events with attachments in your calendar, the reason is WebDAV incorrect settings. Outlook Sync uses WebDAV protocol for downloading attachments separately. Verify WebDAV link settings in SmartDiscover.
